William “Alan” Thomas, 63, a U.S. Navy Veteran and resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Sunday, December 24, 2023 at his residence.  He was born on October 27, 1960 to his parents, William G. and N. Sharri (Whitlow) Thomas in Silver City, NM. 

Alan was kind man with a big heart. He served in the Navy on the USS Ranger as flight deck hand guiding planes on the ship. He enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, movies, football and music. He was a very talented carpenter and craftsman. He was a great father, uncle, son and grandfather. He will be missed.

He is survived by his mother, Sharri Thomas; his three children, Eric Thomas, Julie Cohn (Shawn) and Kristina Thomas Sykes (Brandon); his two grandchildren, Preston and Lliana.  He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Bruce Wayne Thomas (2017); his sister, Karri Lynn Savage (2014). 

The family is requested to have no service at this time.
