Mary D. Parra, 88, a lifelong resident of Deming passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at her home.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 9 to 10 o’clock in the morning at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to be recited at 10 by Patsy Leyba. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately thereafter. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Joe. Fr. Francis Gyau will be officiating.

Mary was born on January 4, 1936 in Deming, New Mexico to Delfina D. Dudley. Mary was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She was devoted to her husband and her 15 children. Through Mary’s faith in God, and by honoring Gods word, our mother had a great influence, on all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.

She is survived by her children Joe (Dora) Parra Jr., Steve Parra, Raymond (Sandy) D. Parra, Robert C. Parra, Eddie (Neomi) G. Parra, Andy (Cynthia) D. Parra, Johnny Joe Parra, Nora (Robert) Jean Herrera, Linda (Lalo) Sue Reyes, Debbie Ann Ordonez, Mary Jo (Miguel Camarena) Parra, and Lauri Ann (Adrian) Chavarria; a brother Robert Dudley and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother Delfina D. Dudley; her husband Joe Q. Parra Sr. and 2 children Ernest and Elizabeth Ann Parra.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Jr., Raymond, Robert, Eddie, Andy, Johnny, and in memory, Ernest Parra.

In lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions be made to the St. Ann’s Building Fund.
