MorenoNNorberta Moreno, 90, a resident of Hanover, NM, entered eternal rest Saturday, February 3, 2024.  She was born on December 18, 1933 to her parents, Manuel and Lorenza (Serna) Pena in Hurley, New Mexico.

Norberta, Mrs. M., Betty, either way you knew her, she was everyone’s Mima. Mima passed in her home and was surrounded by family, love and prayer. During her lifetime, she was a devoted member and Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family Mission in Hanover, she enjoyed crocheting blankets for her loved ones and instilled quirky sayings that will forever be woven into the fabric of those that she left behind. In her younger years, she was a dedicated educator, police advocate, babysitter, beloved sister, wife, daughter, mother, friend, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Mima lived her life as a loyal and faithful follower of her faith, religion, and family. Mima loved her family above all else and wanted to be remembered as a woman that loved her children.

For those that knew Mima, she displayed her affection unapologetically. The foundation she built was one of love, strength, perseverance, humility, and grace. We all have a special gift that Mima has left us, and even though she is gone in the flesh, she will never leave our hearts. Let her life lessons, her strength, her love, and faith continue to guide us to be good boys.

A special thank you from the family to Gila Regional Medical Center ICU nurses,

Hospice team for their care that they provided Mima, Dr. Meyerowitz, Father Martin,

Terrazas Funeral Chapel, and the many community members for offering

support to the Moreno family during this difficult time.
