Manuel Saavedra, 79, Deming resident passed away Saturday March 2, 2024 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will take place Wednesday March 6, 2024 at 4 o’clock in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapel with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 o’clock in the evening led by Dolores Renteria. Mass of  Christian Burial will be Thursday March 7, 2024 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Officiating will be Fr. Francis Gyau.

Manuel was born to Hortencia Duarte and Edmundo Saavedra on November 25, 1944 in Janos, Chihuahua. He loved to dance, listen to music, but what he loved the most was spending time with his family.

Manuel is survived by his wife; Lydia Saavedra, sons; Manuel (Maria Rebecca) Saavedra, Marcos Saavedra, Juan Antonio (Elizabeth) Saavedra and Ruben Saavedra, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers; Jose Dolores & Edmundo Saavedra, 3 sisters; Jesus Maria (Juan) Ochoa, Rosalva Saavedra and Socorro Jacquez.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 sons; Valente, Miguel Angel & Jose Saavedra, siblings; Jose Luis, Ramona, Ramiro, Francisco & Lorenzo Saavedra.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Sanchez, Marcos, Juan Antonio, Ruben,Valente & Marcos Saavedra.
