Lloyd H. "Red" Johnson, 91, resident of Deming, passed away Saturday December 22, 2012 at his home.
 
Visitation was held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels, with a graveside service at Desert Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
 
Lloyd was born June 16, 1921 in McCaulley, Texas to Henry and Berta (Walker) Johnson and has been a resident of Deming since 1948 having previously lived in Hatch. Lloyd served his country honorably in the United States Army during WW II in which was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Afterward he had several careers and hobbies including a truck driver, pilot, train engineer and well driller. In his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and always liked being in the outdoors.
 
He is survived by his children, Benny Johnson (Kathy) of Deming, Steve Johnson of Albuquerque, Don Johnson of Deming, Robert Johnson (Marge) of Albuquerque, Carolyn Metevier (Chuck) of Deming, Delores Olson of Albuquerque, LaWanda Dibello and Angie Stevenson (Mike) of Deming; brother, Dr. Foy Johnson (Janice) of Deming; 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Mae Johnson and by 2 brothers, Gerald Johnson and Oliver Johnson, and his sister, Lorene Russell.
