Agnew

Mary Rachel Agnew, 81, a resident of Cliff, NM entered eternal rest Monday, January 14, 2013 at Gila Regional Medical Center.  She was born June 20, 1931 in Cliff, NM to Joe Hooker and Ethel (Rice) Hooker. 

She is survived by three sons, BJ Agnew (Gaylene) of Gila; Craig Agnew (Margaret) of Brenham, TX; Barry Agnew of Cliff; one daughter, Brenda Jones (Max) of Brownwood, TX; seven grandchildren, Becca, Jennifer and Josh Agnew, Kellie Current, Tyler Agnew, Amy Farmer and Amanda Jones; one great-grandchild, Dylan Current; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Agnew (’96); her parents, one son, Kelly Lee Agnew; three brothers, Joe R., Donald and John Hooker.

Mary Agnew was born Mary Rachel Hooker in Cliff, New Mexico.  She graduated from Cliff High School and continued her education at Western New Mexico University where she met her husband, Bob Agnew. She graduated with a degree in Home Economics.  After retiring, Bob and Mary returned to Cliff, New Mexico, where she was lovingly know as Nana to many relatives and friends. Her hope and faith in the Lord are now realized.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 19th from 12-1pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels.  The funeral service will commence at 1pm with Pastor David Goble officiating.  Concluding the service interment will follow at Gila-Mesa cemetery.  Pallbearers will be: Tyler Agnew, Fabian Beltran, Malcom Brown, Matt Current, Trent Farmer, and Tim Heidrick. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to GRMC Foundation (Gila Regional Medical Center) with a tag for GAP (Guardian Angels Program), 1313 E 32nd Street, Silver City, NM, 88061. This program benefits those in the Gila Regional Cancer Center.
