Benjamin Perez, 51, a lifelong resident of Deming, passed away Sunday March 31, 2013 at Mt. View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces.

A memorial service will be this Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapel with Darrell L. Witmer, Pastor of First Christian Church officiating. Inurnment will take place at Mt. View Cemetery.
 
Benjamin was born August 27, 1961 in Deming to Antonio Perez and Guadalupe Valenzuela. He most recently had been working in the field of residential construction and over the years had held jobs at several locations around Deming. Benjamin enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing and camping and was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins.
 
He is survived by his father, Antonio Perez Sr. (Doris) of Deming; his mother, Guadalupe Valenzuela of Las Cruces; stepfather Joe Baeza; sons, Joshua Melendrez, Jeremiah Perez, and Emilio Baca; stepson, Zack Porter; daughters, Lillian Armendariz, Kayleen Perez, and Annie Perez; brother, Antonio Perez Jr.; stepbrothers Lalo and Joey Baeza; sisters, Norma Perez, Susie Nelson, and Marty Baeza; step sister Debbie Baeza; tia Lulu Lopez and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Benjamin was preceded in death by his brother, Arnold Perez, sister Angie Valenzuela, uncle Florencio “Boogie” Perez, and his grandparents, Daniel and Elena Perez and Lorenzo and Angelita Valenzuela.
