Marie Irene Granger, 94, of Silver City, New Mexico passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Sunshine Haven in Lordsburg, New Mexico.  

A Funeral Service was held at Bright Funeral Home Chapel on April 2, 2013. Interment followed at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Moser, Ken Griffith, Bryant Armstrong and David Rinsch.  Honorary Pallbearers were Doyle Shirey, Ken Rose, and Allen Swaggerty.

She was born March 17, 1919 in Detroit Michigan to Peter Bertossi and Emma Eleanor Louise Kirsch.  She married Maurice Henry Granger December 22, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan.  Mrs. Granger worked as a telephone operator for ten years.  Marie and Maurice owned Cook Home Decorating in Silver City, NM for many years.  Marie was also a telephone operator for Bell Telephone.  Enjoyed reading and writing.

Mrs. Granger is survived by two brothers, Robert Bertossi of Richmond, Michigan, Roger Bertossi of Richmond, Michigan and her sister Norma Zembol of Richmond, Michigan and a very special friend, Rhonda Griffith and her family, and several nieces and nephews.    She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 52 years.    Marie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
