Patricia “Patsy” Diaz Gandara, 70, a resident of Lordsburg, NM

GandaraPPatricia “Patsy” Diaz Gandara, 70, a resident of Lordsburg, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Global Hospice Facility in El Paso, TX.  She was born on January 25, 1953 to Manuel P. Gandara and Thomasa D. Gandara. 

 One of nine siblings, family was very important to Patsy.  She is survived by sisters Magdalena “Nena” Cordova and husband Bill of Albuquerque; Yolanda Alaniz of Lordsburg; Victoria Gandara of Albuquerque; Angela Gandara and wife Bettina of Albuquerque; and Elizabeth “Lisa” DeWalt of Albuquerque; three brothers, Manuel Gandara and wife Shelly of Queen Creek, AZ, Miguel Gandara and wife Lydia of Friendswood, TX, and Raymond Diaz of Las Cruces.  She loved all of her eighteen nieces and nephews as her own and was brought so much joy by her eighteen great grand nieces and nephews.   

As an animal lover she had many pets and took in animals in need of a home when she was able.

Delia Paez Gutierrez, 87, a resident of Deming, NM

GutierrezDDelia Paez Gutierrez entered eternal rest on October, 20th, 2023 in Deming, NM.  Delia was born on December 29, 1935 in El Sabinal Chih., Mx. She lived in Palomas Chih., Mx for many years with her late husband Manuel Gutierrez. She moved to Deming, NM in 1997 where she loved to spend time with her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Watching her great grandchildren grow brought her the most joy of all. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Living within walking distance afforded her the opportunity visit church often.  Her faith was very important to her and she ended every phone call with a long blessing.  The walls of her home were adorned with pictures of family, friends, and items depicting her faith. She was a strong and hardworking woman who loved to cook home cooked meals for her family, friends, and those she loved. Empanadas during the holidays were her specialty.  Her family takes solace in knowing she’s now restfully at peace.

Curtis Allen Clark, 73, a resident of Deming, NM

ClarkCOur hearts are broken over the passing of Curtis Allen Clark on October 22, 2023, at the age of 73 years.

Curtis was born in Alice, Texas, on November 7, 1949, to Delbert Leon Clark and Beatrice Brock Clark.  Curtis served 33 years in law enforcement and retired as a Special Agent with ICE. Upon retirement, he spent most days playing golf with his friends the Bogey Busters, hiking, hunting and traveling to visit his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He is known for his wisdom, consideration of others, and his ability to bring joy and laughter to any gathering of friends and family. Curtis’ quiet, humble and generous spirit will be missed by his many friends and his loving family.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Cynthia Harkwell Clark, sons: Shawn Clark of Key West, Florida; Benjamin Clark (Lili Gong) of Benicia, California; and John Clark of Las Cruces, New Mexico.; his daughters: Michele Clark of Key West, Florida; Angelica Clark Tcherneshoff (DeMarquis Tcherneshoff) of Battle Mountain, Nevada; and Annalisa “Bebe” Clark of Waco, Texas. Curtis has 3 grandchildren who he adored: Cooper Lynn Tcherneshoff, Paige Mae Tcherneshoff, and Carson James Tcherneshoff. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Beatrice Brock, his sister-in-law Patricia Clark, and father-in law Richard Harkwell.

Armando Tavizon, 63, a resident of Silver City, NM

TavizonAArmando Tavizon, 63, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Monday, October 9, 2023 at his residence.  He was born on April 23, 1960 to his parents, Ramon and Mary (Madrid) Tavizon in Silver City, NM. 

Armando graduated from Silver High School in 1979.  After high school he was self-employed and stayed busy with various jobs.  Armando moved to Ohio in 1985 where he quickly began his career in the Correctional Field and also with Haz-Mat.  Armando lived in Columbus, Ohio and worked many years with the Department of Corrections where he retired.   In 2012, Armando moved back home to Silver City.  He quickly became employed with Gila Regional Medical Center as a Security Guard.  Armando then found his "perfect" job again with Hidalgo County Detention Center in 2019.  He worked his way up to Sergeant and remained a supervisor.  Armando considered his co-workers and supervisor his second family as he lived & respected them very much.  Armando married the absolute "love of his life" Julia Forlizzo Tavizon on October 29, 2018.  Armando worked hard, loved his wife, his family, his dog Bertie and his cat Sylvester.  Armando will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Susie Ortiz Terrazas, 59, a resident of Bayard, NM

TerrazasSSusie Ortiz Terrazas, 59, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born May 20, 1964 in Silver City to Cruz and Raquel G. Ortiz.

Susie was a beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She held a special place as the baby sister in the family. She had a unique relationship with each of her four children, nurturing and guiding them towards becoming the individuals they are today. Her support and love showed in the way she cared for and mentored her children. After her sister Olga's battle with cancer, Susie stepped in as a mother and grandmother to Diamond and her daughters. Susie's love also extended to her stepchild, Little Bobby, whom she welcomed into her heart with the same love she showed to her children. She was a dedicated caregiver to her brother Tony, whom she loved deeply. Susie had a gift for making everyone feel at home in her presence. Her home was a gathering place for countless nieces and nephews, whom she referred to as her "orphans." They would gather, savor her delicious meals, and enjoy her “scary” stories.
