Jo Ann Fowler, 62, a resident of Bayard, NM

FowlerJoAnnJo Ann Fowler went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. She passed peacefully with her family by her side.  Born June 16,1961 to Floyd Fowler and Winnie Mae “Hooker” Fowler.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Cody Louk.


She is survived by the love of her life Clee Crumbley. Her daughter Shandis “Shay” Peterson, (Bryan) Grandchildren Clayton Peterson, Cody and Martina Warren, and Julianne Johnsen. Stepdaughter Kalyn Adams, (Mario) Grandchildren Marnie. Braylee, Paxston, and Scarlet. Two uncles and numerous cousins.
 
Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Copper Ridge Fellowship located at 20 Flury Lane, Silver City, NM 88061. Potluck to follow service.

George Markus Clark, 86, Deming resident passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. George was born February 21, 1940 in Chicago, IL to George Chituras and Ruth Wallentine. As per his request cremation is to take place and has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.

Alex "el Ox" Perez, 78, a resident of Bayard, NM

PerezAAlex "el Ox" Perez, 78, Born in Santa Rita on December 2, 1944, on August 16, 2023 "Ox" went to be with the lord and has reunited with family and friends whom have gone before him.  Alex "Ox" proudly served his country in the Army.  He was a man who was full of love and dedication to his family.  
 
Visitations will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 12:00pm-1:00pm with the Holy Rosary commencing at 1:00pm with Father Martin Okonkwo reciting and officiating Funeral Mass following at 1:30pm. Interment will be held the next day, Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11:00am at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Emilio A. Pena, 84, a resident of Deming, NM

PenaEEmilio A. Pena entered eternal rest on July 23,2023 at home surrounded by family and friends.

He was born to Encarnacion and Maria Pena on August 8, 1938 in Deming, NM. After graduating from Deming High School in 1958 Emilio worked for NM Transportation Department from 1959 to 1972. In April 1959 he joined and later retired as a captain from the Army National Guard in which he was a Champion Rifleman. In 1964 he became NM State Champion in Big Bore Rifle Matches in Capitan, NM taking 2 First place Trophies, 1- State Championship and 1- Winning the Standing Position Competition. He joined up with 3 other Deming Guardsmen and to form three-fourths of the first-place four-man team. Later in 1973 Emilio graduated from New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy in Santa Fe New Mexico. In 1984 he graduated from Western New Mexico University in Silver City while working for the Luna Country Sherriff’s department as a deputy from where he retired in 1985 as a Deputy Seargent. After that he joined the City of Belen and worked there until 1986 from where he retired from the State of New Mexico with a total of 25 years of service. Emilio enjoyed collecting and restoring old classic cars, digging and collecting pottery, and traveling visiting 50 states of United States and 8 different countries.
