.a Strong High Pressure Center Will Be Drifting Northwestward But
Still Be Over Southwestern New Mexico This Afternoon. This Will
Allow Lowland Temperatures West Of The Continental Divide To Reach
105 To 107 Degrees. The Upper High Will Be A Little Further Away
On Monday With Southeast Breezes Helping To Trim A Few Degrees Off
Of Afternoon Temperatures.

Issued A Heat Advisory...which Is In Effect From Noon Today To
8 Pm Mdt This Evening.

* Temperature...afternoon Temperatures Will Top Out At 105 To 107
Degrees In Lowland Locations Such As Lordsburg And Animas.

* Impacts...the Potential For Heat Related Illnesses Will Be High.
Since The Relative Humidity Is Still Quite Low...dehydration
Will Be A Threat. Outdoor Strenuous Activity During The Heat Of
The Day Is Discouraged.

Precautionary/preparedness Actions...

A Heat Advisory Means That A Period Of Hot Temperatures Is
Expected. This Will Create A Situation In Which Heat Illnesses
Are Possible. Drink Plenty Of Fluids...stay In An Air-conditioned
Room...stay Out Of The Sun...and Check Up On Relatives And
Neighbors.

Take Extra Precautions...if You Work Or Spend Time Outside.
