.a Winter Storm System Organizing Over The West Coast Will Sweep
Through The Borderland This Evening Into Christmas Morning. The
Surface Front Will Enter Southwest New Mexico Early This Evening
And Then Sweep Through The El Paso Area Around Midnight. Strong
Winds Will Accompany This System. As The Associated Cold Front
Pushes Eastward Tonight, Snow Levels Will Fall And Snow
Accumulations Will Begin. Snow Levels West Of The Continental
Divide Will Fall To 8000 Ft This Evening And Then To 4500 Ft By
Christmas Morning. Snow Levels To The East Will Drop To 6000 Ft
Christmas Morning. With The Front And Supporting Upper Trough East
Of The Area By Mid Day On Christmas, The Snow Should Taper Off And
End As Skies Clear.

* Event...snowfall Of 3 To 5 Inches Above 7000 Ft, With Lesser
Amounts Below.

* Timing...snow Will Begin Above 8000 Ft This Evening With The
Snow Level Quickly Falling To 4500 Ft By Christmas Morning. The
Snow Will End By Late Morning On Christmas.

* Main Impact...snowfall Could Become Packed On Roads, Causing
Hazardous Driving Conditions.

* Other Impacts...gusty Winds Of 20 To 30 Mph Could Produce Some
Blowing And Drifting Snow, Causing Local Poor Visibilities.
