Windy With Blowing Dust Across New Mexico and West Texas
Tuesday Afternoon and early Evening...

.An upper level disturbance with a surface low pressure system will affect the region on Tuesday causing windy conditions with blowing dust. Winds will gust around 50 mph causing blowing dust with areas of visibility below a mile. Dangerous driving conditions are expected including along Interstate 10 near Lordsburg and Deming and also between El Paso and Las Cruces.

The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a Blowing Dust Advisory, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Tuesday. A
Wind Advisory has also been issued. This Wind Advisory is in
effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Tuesday.

* TIMING...Winds will increase in the late morning and attain
maximum speeds between noon and 6 PM.

* WINDS...West to southwest will have sustained speeds around 30
mph with gusts to around 50 mph.

* VISIBILITY...Blowing dust will reduce the visibility to under a
half mile over a few areas including along portions on
Interstate 10 between El Paso and Las Cruces around Deming and
Lordsburg.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous driving conditions will result from the low
visibility and strong winds especially for high profile
vehicles. The winds may also blow down small trees and tree
limbs and also blow around loose objects.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Blowing Dust Advisory means that blowing dust will restrict
visibilities. Travelers are urged to use caution.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
