...BLOWING DUST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 9 PM MDT
FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from midnight tonight to 9 PM MDT
Friday. A Blowing Dust Advisory has also been issued. This
Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect from 10 AM to 9 PM MDT Friday.

* TIMING...Strong winds of 25 to 35 mph will sporadically occur
after midnight and then by late morning become more sustained
and reach their peak by mid afternoon with wind gust of 50 mph
possible.

* WINDS...Winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph possible by
Friday afternoon.

* VISIBILITY...Visibility will be reduced to 1 to 3 miles and
occasionally dip below 1 mile during the strong winds in the
afternoon.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and blowing dust will create
hazardous driving conditions especially on north/south running
roads and along the highways west of Las Cruces. The strong
winds could also lead to some isolated power line and tree
damage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

A Blowing Dust Advisory means that blowing dust will restrict
visibilities. Travelers are urged to use caution.
