...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 9 PM MDT
THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 2 PM this
afternoon to 9 PM MDT this evening.

* TIMING...Winds will increase in the early afternoon and peak
between 3 PM and 6 PM.

* WINDS...Southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph will be common, with
gusts 45 to 55 mph. The strongest winds will occur in areas
just east of mountain ranges, including Northeast El Paso and
around White Sands Missile Range Headquarters. Mountain passes
will also experience some of the strongest winds.

* BLOWING DUST...Blowing dust is likely to develop across the
area, but visibility will generally remain above 1 mile. Lower
visibility is possible in a few locations such as along
Interstate 10 near Lordsburg Playa, or immediately downwind of
empty fields.

* IMPACTS...Winds will be strong enough to break tree branches,
toss about loose objects, and cause minor structural damage,
such as to roofs. Driving may become hazardous, especially in
high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of at least 30 mph are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
