Several weather alerts and advisories have come into the Grant County Beat email box. Some have been small and located in the far corners of the county, especially in the southeast corner.

Right now one alert shows a medium-sized storm just north of Silver City that could impact Pinos Altos and the town of Silver City. 

This writer has heard several large claps of thunder, but no evidence yet of the torrential rain or hail that the Weather Service says is possible with this storm.

The Beat recommends you keep an eye on the skies and be careful if lightning and thunder are nearby.
