...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH 6 P.M. THURSDAY 

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southwest New Mexico, including the following areas, Grant, Hidalgo, Luna and western Sierra Counties

* From Wednesday afternoon through late Wednesday night

* Heavy rainfall with widespread totals of 1 inch with isolated totals of 2 to 3 inches of rain will be possible.

* Heavy rains could lead to flash flooding of low water crossings and other flood prone areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
