...WINTER WEATHER WILL RETURN TO SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO AND WEST
TEXAS TONIGHT AND TUESDAY...

Rain and snow will develop across mainly western and high
mountain portions of New Mexico tonight with the rain and snow
spreading further east over much of southern New Mexico and west
Texas Tuesday morning. Up to 3 inches of snow may fall over a few
areas of the Gila Wilderness mountains and the Sacramento
Mountains late tonight and Tuesday morning. Rain or snow will also
fall across much of the lower elevations with up to an inch of
snow expected over a few lowland locations.

The snow or the rain and snow mixture will cause hazardous
driving conditions due to slippery roads and low visibility,
especially during the Tuesday morning rush hour traffic. It will
also be much colder Tuesday with temperatures falling to around 20
degrees below normal.

The winter weather will be caused by a deep upper level
disturbance and associated cold front moving across the southern
Rocky Mountains.
