Ten Grant County Sheriff's Office deputies and detectives, four EMS personnel, and an OMI employee, responded at various times to 97 Quail Run in the Wind Canyon area on Sunday, Mar. 10, 2024, in reference to a medical call received about 11:14 a.m. The Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority advised that the an adult male and an adult female are saying, "Ow," a 5-year-old female is unresponsive, and a 7-year-old male has pain in his legs. Deputies first arrived at the address at approximately 11:19 a.m.

Sunday, Mar. 10, 2024, Grant County sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to 23 H.L. Watkins Road, Silver City, at about 5:45 p.m. in reference to an unwanted subject call. A male had been reported squatting on their property for an hour and refusing to leave, although now he was reported leaving.

On Monday, Mar. 11, 2024, at about 9:01 p.m. a Silver City Police Department officer was dispatched, while patrolling, to the Food Basket at 1220 N. Hudson Street in response to an unwanted subject call. The officer was told by the Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority, the male, reportedly, had consumed beer without paying for it and was refusing to leave. Arriving at the location, the assistant manager of the business directed the officers to the store's restroom where they observed a male inside without a shirt and wearing jeans.

On June 13, 2023, Chief Hector Carrillo of the Bayard Police filed a formal complaint with the State of New Mexico Ethics Committee against City Councilwoman Frances Gonzales. The impetus for this was the pending charge of False Reporting, but there had been other incidences.*
The first incidence was on July 30, 2022 at the Cobre Consolidated School District's Summerfest. Annette Acosta, the school official and the event coordinator, had received a complaint from Sami Morales. Morales explained she had been walking by the city council tent when she overheard Councilwomen Gonzales state she was very unhappy that the Republican Party tent was so close to her party's tent.

A Santa Clara Police Department officer was dispatched to 610 N. East Street on Saturday, Mar. 16, 2024, at approximately 5:19 p.m. to a disturbance call. When the officer arrived at the address, he was met by the 48-year-old male victim, who stated his nephew, Matias Marquez, 23, of Santa Clara, was "destroying his house," declaring his nephew "threw a crazy and started breaking things in his house." The victim told the officer, Marquez had lived at this address prior but had been kicked out a 'few months ago' and had been living at the homeless shelter. He returned yesterday.
