Have you ever had that situation where you really needed help at a time when it wasn't really convenient for someone to come to your aid? Imagine that you're driving home late at night, it's approaching midnight, and you have a mechanical problem with your car. Who would you call in that situation? Most people would read the situation that I described here and, hopefully, think about a couple of people whom they know they could call for help. Depending on where I am, I know exactly who I could call.

I could call my brother Joe, who has always been the backbone of our family! Joe is reliable, always helpful and he knows how to fix just about everything! Joe is dependable and I know he will be available. I also know that I could call my good friend Romeo! Romeo and I have been working together for the past year and, from what I have learned so far, I know that Romeo is reliable and trustworthy. I could call him, and he would answer my call. On a side note, I probably wouldn't call my wife at that time mostly because she would wonder what I was doing out so late. I'm just kidding! My wife would probably be with me if I was out that late, or she would already know where I was and what I was doing. Realistically though, I lead a pretty boring life and I'm usually at home long before midnight, but I digress.

In the time of COVID 19 we are all in an information overload situation and finding trustworthy, reliable, resources is a daunting task! We are focused on remaining safe and virus free as we attempt to go about our daily lives. We need to go to the grocery store each week, we want to order take out food, we need to fill up our cars with gas, we want to worship, and we want to see our families. The list goes on and on and the preparation needed for a simple trip to your favorite takeout restaurant, for example, is detailed with important information you need to know.

Is the business I'm ordering from NM COVID Safe Certified? Are the employees practicing COVID Safety Protocols? What is the latest information that I need to know to make sure that my family and/or the workers we will come into contact with are operating safely? I'm proud to say that there is a website that can answer most of the questions you have about the latest CSP's in the marketplace here in Grant County. This website is called the Grant County COVID 19 Business Concierge and can be found at https://grantcountycoronavirusupdate.org/business/ and is designed to be a "one-stop-shop" for COVID 19 information for your business.

The Grant County Emerging Diseases Taskforce is working diligently to make sure that all residents, business and non-business, have all of the information that we need to safely get our communities to the point where we are operating in the "green" and can finally reopen. We recently conducted a survey of local businesses and learned that your local business owners are committed to doing everything possible to ensure a safe environment for their patrons. The "Business Concierge" is the place where you can get current, comprehensive, information about all things COVID 19. As much as you want to go and get your favorite burrito or red enchiladas, your local restaurateurs want to serve it to you safely and quickly.

If you haven't had a chance to get onto the Grant County Corona Virus Update, I would encourage you to do so. This site is designed to be easy to navigate and packed with information about the pandemic and the Grant County COVID 19 response. Thanks to Dr. Renee Despres and the Emerging Infectious Diseases Taskforce there are a great deal of people who are doing work behind-the-scenes to make sure that Grant County is ready to reopen. Franky, the key to seeking help is knowing, without a doubt, who you can call if it's something you need to do. This is why we are so proud of the Grant County COVID 19 Business Concierge. They are the trusted friend or brother that you can rely on when push comes to shove!
