We had some bad news over the weekend as we found out we had lost one of our soup kitchen regulars to disease.

It €™s always hard to see someone you have tried to repeatedly help fall, but it is a natural part of life and we deal with an at-risk population.

She was a cheerful person when not drinking and showed kindness to those around her and she will be missed.

When you work or volunteer down here, you are able to put some names to some of the faces you see in the streets and find out that they are people, just like you and me.

Deserving of our compassion and help, no matter what their circumstances, addictions or problems.
