Turner: Every Member Who Voted "No" Voted Against America

Washington, D.C. - Today, Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future, issued the following statement praising House Republicans for passing H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act:

"As recently as the era of Barack Obama, members of both political parties used to agree that abundant and affordable American energy was the foundation of economic and national security. After a long two years of the green climate cult of the Biden Administration, it is a breath of fresh air to finally see a pro-energy plan come out of Washington, D.C. Every member who voted against HR-1 voted to support China's dominance of green energy markets. Every member who voted no voted to support Vladimir Putin's dominance of energy in Europe. Every member who voted no voted against America. Their constituents who are plagued by high energy prices should hold them accountable at the ballot box next year."

H.R. 1 passed by a 225-204 vote, with four Democrats voting in support.

Introduced March 9, H.R. 1 represents the House Republicans commitment to restoring energy dependence by fixing permitting, promoting new refineries and increasing mining. The 175-page measure combines individual bills reported out of the House Energy and Commerce, Natural Resources and Transportation and Infrastructure committees. The Lower Energy Costs Act would increase domestic production, reform the permitting process, reverse the Biden Administration's anti-energy policies, streamline the energy infrastructure and exports and boost the production and processing of critical minerals.
