I was surprised by the end of 2021; my business was finally on the mend from the US Senate campaign in 2018 and our construction project at Los Alamos National Laboratory. At the beginning of 2021, I finally became a good television host of, "To the Point with Mick Rich" only to have it end. Months later I began writing articles for "To The point with Mick Rich". I have always been committed to making a difference, only how I will make that difference has changed.

You helped me to make a difference. One reader wrote me to say, good ideas awful writing please get someone to proof your writing. I did. Another reader wrote that I was incorrect on how to repeal bail bond reform, he was correct but did not need to be insulting. I am more careful now. One comment I received, good points and arguments but I do not agree with you. I can appreciate that.

I learned a few surprising lessons. A national publication rejected my article because I included an unsubstantiated idea in the article. I was admonished by American Thinker when they published my article, and it was also published in the Grant County Beat. Discovered Grant County and San Francisco are not far apart on the web. An editor took the time to explain what makes for a great article, solid title, strong first paragraph, get it done between 400 and 800 words.

To the Point with Mick Rich is gaining traction. The last article I published, "Spaceport America: The Fleecing of New Mexico" was opened by seventy-five percent of the people that received the article. My articles have appeared in newspapers around the state, posted online in the New Mexico Sun and the American Thinker. The Grant County Beat regularly posts my articles.

The most important accomplishment of 2021, I am learning how to be a grandfather. Great fun ahead for Aiden and me.

Moving Forward

I am committed to making a difference in our state and nation by providing you with a unique perspective on the challenges we face, a possible solution to those challenges, and what you can do.

My unique perspective comes from how I approach the challenges we face. I choose a topic and a hypothesis, then research the topic. I let the evidence determine the conclusion and hopefully end with a call to action. Many times, I surprise myself, either with the conclusion or with the evidence that is available and ignored by the media.

Most of my calls to action are for you to demand our elected officials take a specific action or to work to elect new individuals to office. You can make a difference.

Only in New Mexico

The Albuquerque Journal reported that the accused carjacker, Procopio Montoya Atkinson pushed the driver out of the vehicle as he shot him in the back. Later Atkinson stated, "not intended for anyone to get hurt". Reminds me of Flip Wilson, "The Devil made me do it"

Santa Fe Democrats wage war on; Tribes, Pueblos, and the Navajo Nation with their redistricting for Congressional Districts 1,2, and 3. The new districts as drawn protect Santa Fe Democrats at the expense of Native Americans. Despite rumors, the Governor will not sign the bill at the Onate Monument.

Current NM Attorney General Hector Balderas and aspiring AG's Colon and Torres are silent on the conviction of sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and her connection to Santa Fe via the Zorro Ranch. Time's Up protection of Cuomo can't hold a candle to Santa Fe Democrats' protection of Epstein and Maxwell's guests at the Zorro Ranch.

May God Bless All of You in 2022
