Republican Candidates Are Going to Score Big Because Santa Fe Democrats Can't Hold Them Back

To the candidates:
Thank you all for running for office. Not all of you can win, but by all of you running, some of you will win, thank you. It is exhausting work, knocking on doors, writing letters, and making calls; thank you. You donated your own money to run for office without expecting it back; thank you. You risked your reputation to run for office; thank you.
I appreciate that you need a break from the pressure and the stress. I empathize that you cannot make another call or knock on another door. I sympathize with you that you have given the same answer to the same question many times, but the person before you have not heard your answer before. I understand your voice is getting hoarse, and your hand is aching.
No matter how tired you may be today, you cannot let up until election day. Because the worse thing to befall your campaign is to wake up the day after the election and realize you could have made one more….
So, pick yourself up and make that the next call, shake the next hand, and answer one more call knowing that we are your biggest supporter. Good Luck and God Speed.

Republican candidates are running for office to represent you.
Since the June primary, these candidates have asked all New Mexicans to vote for them. They often do not know anything about the person's political leanings when they extend their hand. Almost always, the potential voter is cordial. But sometimes, the voter cannot see the candidate, only their most hated politician. Despite the experience, they go to the next prospective voter and extend their hand.
These candidates have been reaching out to Republicans since they asked for signatures to get on the ballot. Republicans are supportive of Republicans, but there are always exceptions. Those exceptions can be harder than the Santa Fe Democrats; it seems we are harder on the ones we love.
These candidates are seen as individuals running for office. But these candidates have families that may or may not support the candidacy. When they don't, people hope to exploit that difference. The Santa Fe New Mexican asked an Albuquerque candidate for State Representative if they supported their far-left Democrat sister running for State Representative in Santa Fe. She responded, "Did you ask my sister if she supported me?". Not surprising that they did not ask her sister.
Those candidates that are running for re-election are thanked efforts by many. But only some care to understand the challenges of being in office. There are limits to what can and can not be accomplished, and most don't care. Most surprising, these brave souls do this every two to four years.
Get behind our candidates. Send an email (or share this article) to one, a few, or all. Tell them to keep going. Thank them for carrying the ball for all of us.
