Ignorance; the lack of knowledge or information. I am amazed at how ignorant so many in our society are these days. It makes it possible for the political and media elite to run this country into the ground.

I have an acquaintance, a friend of my Dad's from his college days, who continually comments on some of my social media posts. I said something the other day about politicians in general being liars, all of them, and he felt compelled once again to bash President Trump. His responses are clearly those of a man that listens only to CNN, which he has admitted is his major source of information.

I generally do not respond, but after the NM House passed SB5, the Red Flag bill, I made a comment saying if we are unarmed we are no longer citizens but subjects. He responded with the comment that no one is coming for our guns. I pointed out the red flag laws that are already law in I believe 17 states. He had no idea what a red flag law was. Literally no idea. For a man that is educated and claims to be politically aware to have no idea, that's sad. That's ignorance.

The increasing popularity of socialist policies, free stuff, is another example I listened to another video from the great folks at Campus Reform asked students if they supported free tuition (a bill for 'free tuition' will pass the NM legislature this session). Of course. But when they were told that under Warren's or Sander's plans their income taxes would increase by as much as 50%. The most common response was, "wait, we still have to pay for it?" Ignorance. TANSTAFL!

In theory we have much more access to information than even 20 years ago, via the internet. But with the domination of the search engines by GOOGLE, who has been proven to manipulate search responses in favor of liberal news sources, makes it hard to find accurate information.

It's not impossible but it does take work to find source documentation such as actual legislative bills or transcripts of phone calls. But it is there. I understand that many of us are busy with living our lives but were are at a crossroads in the history of our country. We are either going to prosper or wither under the socialist policies of the Pelosi/Schumer/Sanders/RINO politicians. It's incumbent upon each of us to be informed, to combat the ignorance of the sheeple, which is often wrapped in the cloak of good intentions.
