I find it interesting that Xochitl Torres-Small is running an ad for her reelection campaign that out her agreement on a couple of issues with President Trump. She points out her support of USMCA and one of the stimulus bills. Never mind that she voted against President Trump's position over 92% of the time. One must ask why?

There is no doubt that the Democrat National Committee is approving all ads prior to being aired, something they have always done, but I think are much more involved these days than they have been in the past. You might say that given the tone of the nominating convention that ended last night, "Why would they approve an ad that touts support for President Trump's policies?" They are running scared.

Despite their best efforts, especially at the state level, the economy is doing well. The V shaped recovery has materialized, and the stock markets are hitting or approaching record highs. Apple became the first company with a market cap of 2 trillion dollars and Target reported quarterly profits that smashed previous records. As an aside, I will have a more detailed analysis of why Target and other big box stores are reporting record sales and profits on tomorrow's radio show, 9 a.m. on 92.9 FM.

You may have also noticed that the speakers on the Zoom convention did not mention the riots, which they have continually blamed on the President. I think the DNC and their friends in the media are coming to realize that the populace is putting the blame for the riots on Democrat mayors and governors.

I do believe that most Americans also put the blame for our handling of the coronavirus on the Democrat governors rather than the federal government. However, polling does show that President Trump scores the lowest among voters for his handling of the virus. Most polls have his approval rate in this area around the low 40th percentiles, while his handling of the economy is above 50% as is his stance on law and order. That explains why his handling of the coronavirus was the biggest theme of the speeches at the convention.

So, it should be no surprise that many of the Democrats seeking reelection are trying their best to align themselves with some of President Trump's policies. They know that their only hope of winning a legitimate victory is to appeal to economic conservatives and those that support law and order. They will exploit that connection as much as possible over the next few months.

It is our job however to ensure that our friends and family do not fall for the trick. Xochitl has expressed support for many socialist programs that are being pushed by those in control of the Democrat party and the mainstream media. We cannot let them fall for the thinly veiled claim that she and others support conservative causes. One vote does not negate the rest of her record. As I've said before, we must do everything we can to keep our friends and family not only informed but motivated to get out and vote. The future of our country depends upon it.
