Sometimes I have a thought that is not fully developed but I let it out to run and play and see what happens anyway. I thought today's column would be one of those times when I let an idea run around and get some feedback but after trying to put it into words on paper it just didn't work. I will save that for another day so that means it's time for one of my random thoughts and observations column.

What is your perception of how black people feel about the police? Would it be that most hate them? Separate surveys from Monmouth and Pew tell a different story. The numbers are essentially the same and find that 21% are very satisfied with the job their local Police Department is doing. 52% are somewhat satisfied while only 5% are very dissatisfied. 44% of respondents said they had had a negative contact with police officers but still are not dissatisfied with the job they do. Yet the Democrats continue to push for defunding of the police and I believe are going to try and put in place a national police force. Their justification will be something along the lines of saying that municipalities cannot correct the problems that are systemic. If the problems truly were systemic, then why would black Americans have such an overwhelmingly positive opinion of their local police departments? Once again the national leaders of the Democrat party are creating a problem that does not need to be solved but they will change our country fundamentally in order to control us.

There is a fool born every minute. Jackie and James McCormick of Coleshill, Warwickshire are hoping that saying holds true. The couple purchased their dream home in February after visiting the house several times and getting approved for the loan. Now they are complaining and considering suing their realtor because the house sits next to a four Lane roadway that is heavily traveled and is noisy. In fact they cannot sleep at night. Jackie admits that they knew the roadway was there but did not know that it would be that noisy at night and believes that is something their realtor should have told them. Her complaints on social media and to a local TV station have gone viral and rightfully so, Jackie and her husband are being ridiculed for not realizing that vehicles make a lot of noise. They are hoping that they can find someone to buy the house from them before the end of the year. But with all of their publicity, I doubt it's going to be an easy job. But then again we live in a world full of ignorant people so maybe their odds of finding a buyer are better than I think.

Planned obsolescence has been around for a long time among manufacturers. The idea that mechanical contraptions need to wear out in order for the company to be able to continue to sell parts and or new equipment. Am I the only one that thinks that the expected life span of household appliances has gotten shorter? Didn't washers and dryers used to last for 15 years or more? Now it seems like we're replacing them every few years along with hot water heaters. But then again so much is made in China and other countries.

When an unstable individual shoots several people, politicians and the media are quick to call for gun control, essentially blaming the gun but when an officer shoots someone, the officer gets blamed? The answer is simple, too many people do not have consistent principles other than what can they do or say in order to gain control over others.

I saw that Schlotzsky's Is no longer offering green chile on their menu. What ignorant easterner has taken over control of one of our companies? Clearly, they are mentally incompetent and should be removed from a position of authority immediately.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that the Democrat power cabal is now seeking to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court so they can retake control. This is the same group that complained about packing the court when someone they did not like was occupying the White House.

Joe Biden finally admitted what most left leaning people thinkā€”the Constitution nor any of its amendments are absolute. That should scare you to death. We have already watched the rule of law be weakened to a point that the occupant of the White House can tell you to your face that your rights are not protected and can be taken away from you at the whim of any person in a position of authority.

Remember, we the people still have the power. I will not disagree that it is slipping away but it is time for us to take the action necessary to protect our rights and take control away from an overreaching federal government. Florida may have taken the first step in that battle. But we cannot let the politicians who are concerned about the direction of our country do it alone. It is incumbent upon each one of us to do whatever we can , such as voting, volunteering to work during elections to ensure integrity, being informed, and informing others of the truth. When each of us is doing that there is not a political force in this country that can withstand the tidal wave of those that believe in liberty, freedom, and the rights of the individual.
