Political leaders, progressives in the media, race baiters, and their followers have no shame. They care about only one thing and that is the amount of power and money that they can obtain. The most recent example comes as a jury finds Jussie Smollett guilty of lying about being the victim of a hate crime. A jury found him guilty on five of six charges and he now faces up to 15 years in prison.

But let's go back to when the alleged crime occurred. Smollett claimed he was attacked by people wearing MAGA hats, screaming this is "MAGA country". And they not only beat him but put a noose around his neck. It did not take long for the screams of indignation to resound through the Twitterverse. From Joe Biden to Kamala Harris to Joy Reid to Al Sharpton and everyone in between. They denounced the racism of all Trump supporters. And of course called for action along with donations to their causes to fight the rampant racism in America.

Now that it's been proven that the claim was false many of these people are eerily quiet. There are no mea culpas and those that do comment point out that just because a jury found this to be a false claim doesn't mean that racism isn't rampant in America. It doesn't mean that Republicans aren't racist and there is still a fight to be had.

What's sad is that claims like this or the Twana Brawley case take away from instances of real racism. It certainly gives those who are racist the opportunity to say that all of these people are lying. And with many who would stand up against racism when it truly occurs, it jades us, it makes us wonder if it really is racism or we are being duped once again. It prevents a real conversation about what is racist in America and what is not.

Among those that did comment on the outcome of the trial, most said that this doesn't mean racist instances like this don't occur in America. In fact they said it is still all too common for instances like this to happen. That is an outright lie. If attacks like this were truly occurring they would be plastered all over the news every night just like this false attack was broadcast for weeks.

The true racism in this country comes from the people who believe that minorities cannot achieve on their own and thus need the government to give them special privileges or protections. Those that want to carve out entitlements or special legal treatment or even restrictions on certain minority groups in order to "help" other minority groups. That is the racism about which we need to be having a conversation. Make the race baiters tell us why they believe the government, which they control, discriminates against minority groups. I doubt that conversation will occur in a significant way.

Since it won't, racism will continue to run rampant through our society. And those that profit off of it will continue to control the narrative while lining their pockets and doing nothing to improve the lives of those they claim to help.
