I have not done a random thoughts and observations column for a long time. It's about time we did one again don't you think?

It's interesting that we are starting to see more media outlets publish information that goes against the COVID-19 narrative being pushed by Anthony Fauci, Joe Biden, and big pharmaceutical. Forgive me if I repeat myself, but I don't believe it's because they have suddenly become aware that the entire pandemic has been a scam with the dual purpose of making money for big pharmaceutical and their political friends, along with increasing the power and control of the political elite over the citizens of this country. The change is because they have seen that the masses are becoming restless. They see a storm on the horizon that could bring sweeping change to Congress in the midterm elections. I'm sure their hope is that they can salvage some of the results of their efforts.

All these years I thought Bill Clinton was talking about Monica when he said, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” I have now come to the realization that he was actually talking about Hillary. I for one believe him.

Historians have long believed that there was a time capsule buried somewhere in the statue of Robert E. Lee in Richmond VA. When the intolerant authoritarians demanded the statue be taken down they were excited because it had been rumored that there was a photograph of a deceased Abraham Lincoln in the box. There were actually two boxes found in the base of the statue and sadly none of them contained anything of great interest. Michael Beschloss is an author nine books about U.S. Presidents and is considered to be an authority on the US presidency. He was present for the opening of the second box and all he could say about the contents was to express his disappointment that Robert E. Lee had not penned a letter expressing his regret for fighting to prolong slavery in the United States. Michael had no reason to believe there would be such a letter since Lee hadnever expressed those sentiments in a strong manner while he was alive. He just hoped it would happen because it was the right thing to do. How can you trust a historian who doesn't understand history?

Proof that our education system is failing miserably: how many of you have heard of the metaverse? On the Internet there is an entire fake universe where you can actually purchase fake stuff. Everything from clothing to food to art. If you can purchase real items in the real world you can purchase fake items in the metaverse. Nike has jumped into the metaverse with both feet purchasing a company that is well known for making fake shoes. The company actually sells a picture of whatever shoe the user or customer wants to design and they make pretty good money. You never get anything tangible to touch but you can resell it. I am not by any means an expert in anything related to the computer but I do know there are a number of programs out there where you could probably design your own shoes clothing and anything else you wanted and you wouldn't have to pay real money to own something fake.

Unfortunately police in Florida have thinned the wrong herd. Earlier this week a contracted maintenance worker who was supposed to be cleaning bathrooms at the Naples Zoo was able to get into the back area of the tiger exhibit. He stuck his arm through a fence and the Malayan tiger decided that was lunch. The man was able to dial 911 and officers showed up about 6:30 beating on the fence to try and get the tiger to let go. It was clear the tiger was not going to and the man was in danger of dying. Because it could take 45 minutes to have a veterinarian create a sedative for a dart the officers were forced to shoot the tiger. It died shortly thereafter. It is one of the most endangered tiger species in the world. There is a little part of me that believes the sheriff's deputies shot the wrong participant. The tiger was just being a tiger, but I guess you could say the thing about the human being.

If I have one hope for the new year. It is that people will take 10 minutes out of their day to become involved with our politicians. My hope is that you take the time to make a phone call or send an email telling politicians what you think, what you believe, and that they are wrong. I still have hope that if enough of us bring a bit of reality into their fantasy world, we can change their behavior.
