Silver City, NM - The Mark Ivan Gilbert Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Martino Tsosie, a freshman from Navajo, New Mexico.
 
Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a minority student majoring in computer science.
 
"I am very excited to have been chosen to receive the Gilbert Scholarship to assist me in continuing my education in computer science," said Tsosie. "I have selected this major because of the ever growing influence of technology in today's world.
 
Established in 1997, the scholarship is managed and administered by the Western New Mexico University Foundation in consultation with the Gilbert family.
