rotary club awards checks rsThe attached picture taken at the check presentation shows, from left right, Merrit Helfferich and Madge Slavec representing the Gila Valley Library, Debra Frasca representing Life Quest, Amy Wagner representing the Silver City Gospel Mission, and Joe Heidrick, club president.At its meeting on November 28, the Rotary Club of Silver City celebrated the success of its October Benefit Auction and Gala, and presented checks from the auction proceeds to each of the three designated auction beneficiaries. Joseph Heidrick, Club president, presented a checks in the amount of $9,700 each to representatives of the three organizations.

The Gila Valley Library, represented at the meeting by Merritt Helfferich and Madge Slavec, will use the money to build a Gazebo for children's programming as an adjunct to the Library building.

The Silver City Gospel Mission, represented by Amy Wagner, will use its award to enable residents in its Serinna House to make the transition to independent living.

Life Quest, represented by Debra Frasca, will use its award in the purchase of a new vehicle to enable staff to visit children and families in outlying areas of Grant County.

Joe Heidrick expressed the Club's thanks to all sponsors, table sponsors, restaurant sponsors, donors and auction bidders who helped to make the auction such a success. The Beneficiary representatives thanked the Club for choosing their respective projects to receive support from the auction proceeds and for all the work that went into putting on the auction.
