clear picAlyssa ClearAlyssa Clear and Elizabeth Sorells have been named as the recipients of this year’s Silver City Rotary Club/Western New Mexico University Foundation scholarships.

Clear is an accounting major from Silver City who expects to graduate from WNMU in 2021. Sorells, who lives in Tyrone, also expects to graduate from WNMU in 2021. She is majoring in Mathematics and in Forest Wildlife. Both women are receiving a $1,000 scholarship for their 2020 to 2021 academic year. 

elizabethsorells picElizabeth SorellsThe scholarships come from the Silver City Rotary Scholarship Fund established at the WNMU Foundation. The fund is designed to offer scholarships to deserving juniors or seniors at the University. Each year the Silver City Rotary Club establishes a committee to evaluate scholarship applications and select the scholarship winners.
