The New Mexico Resiliency Alliance, in partnership with New Mexico MainStreet and the McCune Charitable Foundation, awarded Silver City MainStreet funds for the Downtown Recovery Fund.

The Downtown Recovery Fund is one of the programs Silver City MainStreet has been facilitating to help downtown businesses challenged by the Covid pandemic. The funding provided seed money for GoFundMe campaigns to several downtown businesses that applied for and met grant guidelines. Grant recipients also attended a training webinar provided by New Mexico MainStreet revitalization specialists on how to have a successful campaign.

The awarded businesses are Light Art Space, Javalina Coffee House, Silver Nature Spirits Gift Shop, Amma Guadalupe, Revel, Silco Theater, Dandelion Wish, and the Silver Book Shop. We encourage residents to support their GoFundMe campaigns and all the campaigns of our small, locally owned businesses. The campaigns can be found at GoFundMe.com and on the individual business and Silver City MainStreet facebook pages.

"We are so grateful to the New Mexico Resiliency Alliance for this funding that will help these downtown businesses, states Patrick Hoskins, Board President of Silver City MainStreet. Our small businesses have donated to many groups and causes over the years, and now it is time to help them. Please consider donating to these campaigns and please shop local!"

The mission of Silver City MainStreet is "To encourage a vibrant, historic downtown Silver City which is recognized as the heart of our diverse community." Please visit our website, www.silvercitymainstreet.com to learn more.
