Mark Leyba, GCRDA Supervisor, Jasmine Sandoval, and SWAC - NM EMT Association Chair Pete Bellows.On April 8, 2021 at approximately 7:00 PM, the NM Statewide Advisory Committee (SWAC) and NM Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Bureau held and awards ceremony VIA Zoom. This was done to recognize individuals and services who have been selected to receive one of many prestigious awards given out by the Statewide Advisory Committee and NM State EMS Bureau. These awards recognize the exceptional individuals and services from across the state in their service to their community. 

On May 12, 2021 at a GCRDA Board Meeting, SWAC - NM EMT Association Chair Pete Bellows, gave GCRDA Supervisor Jasmine Sandoval her award.

Supervisor Jasmine Sandoval, received this award over ALL of the other 911 Dispatchers and Agencies in New Mexico. She is one (1) of two-hundred (200) Certified Emergency Medical Dispatchers in New Mexico.

GCRDA 911 Center Supervisor Jasmine Sandoval, has been a certified Dispatcher with Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certifications since 2007. During that span of time, she has handled numerous accidents with injuries, paging out the Ambulance and Volunteer Medical Services to using her EMD skills to triage the 911 call until boots on the ground arrived. She has delivered babies using EMD and held citizens hands through the phone numerous times.

While she is a magnet to receiving grass fires, house fires and vehicle fires; she is amazing when it comes to her patience with the elderly and or citizens needing “Medical Help” and have a language barrier. Most of the time, she is training a new dispatcher, and multitasks all aspects of being a Supervisor; while she is assisting the public with their needs.  She is truly inspiring when it comes to her dispatching and helping citizens in need. The Law Enforcement Officers, her fellow Dispatchers and her Supervisors, trust her immensely and have a huge amount of respect for her and her dispatching. 

Supervisor Jasmine Sandoval, is genuinely interested in helping others and provides a service in a consistently positive and helpful manner.  She, is exceptional responsible and volunteers to jump in and help out with any of the other dispatchers, even when she is not on duty. Jasmine is self-assured and calmly handles stress associated with busy times in our agency. She blends a well-organized, task-oriented style with the above forementioned sensitivity to the needs of the citizens, Fire, EMS and Law Enforcement in this area.
