The Walk4fitness program has finally come to its end as of June 2.  Kick off for the Walk4fitness study took place March 10 at Fox field where participants walked for a 12 week period. Ellen Driber-Hassall and Jack Bishop, co-owners of Aging Matters, LLC were present for both days. The participants really enjoyed and had fun doing the exercise as expressed by them. The participants showed determination and willingness to follow the schedule as laid out.

In summarizing what it’s about “to keep older adults engaged for 12 weeks in a comprehensive walking program which endorses regular exercise and health promotion”.  Aging Matters, LLC will conduct a social science within the confines of this program. This is an opportunity for individuals to get involved and hopefully continue walking even though the program will end.

As per Ellen’s comments; It was completely our honour to meet and work with you and each and every one of the walk club participants. We noticed something very unique about this fine group; it operated as a well-oiled machine. Everyone had concern and interest in their fellow members, not just those they knew from before. That is a rare brand of synergy normally found in more established groups.

Fidel Quintana's leadership proved instrumental. He took extra steps to retrieve data and to keep the group engaged and moving forward.
