Tribute to Sunny Kellerman, 2020-2021 Rotary District Governor
On July 27, 2021, Silver City Rotary Club members and guests gave praise and “job well-done” to Sunny Kellerman, a Silver City Rotarian for 16 years, who served as District Governor for Rotary District 5520 (New Mexico & West Texas) for the 2020-2021 Rotary year.
Club president Bart Roselli announced that the club is establishing a college scholarship program in Kellerman's name. He also presented her with a grand piano arch clock as a gift from the club.
Serving as Governor normally requires visiting all of the 67 clubs in the District in person. Because of Covid-19, most of the visits had to take place via Zoom, a process that was a learning experience for her and her husband Harry, as well as the many Rotarians she was able to meet electronically through that medium.
In thanking the club, Kellerman said that she has always believed in the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self “ and was heartened by seeing the strong commitment of so many Rotarians throughout the District and particularly here in Silver City to living up to that motto.
