dougstoneGREENVILLE, SC (09/15/2021)-- Douglas Stone, of the BJU Bruins men's cross country team, was named the Student-Athlete of the Week by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for Division II. Stone is a junior music major from Silver City.

He set a new personal record in the 5k at the Furman Invitational 5k. Stone crossed the finish line in 15:48 and led the Bruins to a third-place team finish.

The Student-Athlete of the Week award is chosen by the NCCAA and recognizes the play of student-athletes in their respective sport.

BJU is a provisional member of NCAA DIII and an NCCAA member. The Bruins feature 12 varsity programs and over 200 student-athletes.
