40 Coats were collected in sizes 3T through 5T for boys and girls and were presented to Misty Pugmire, Executive Director of the El Grito Head Start Center on Thursday, October 7.

Lynette Holguin, broker, and coat drive chairperson stated, “I championed collecting coats for El Grito Head Start because when I was younger, and a single mom, they were wonderful."

"A lot of the parents at Head Start are single and can’t afford to buy brand new coats. Many children may have to wear the same coats they had last year, and they may be old and worn out. Giving to El Grito is very important to me, and dear to my heart.”

This project was started this year by the Silver City Regional Association of Realtors to coincide with the Realtors® Are Good Neighbors Volunteer Days event held September 28 through October 3. “Across the country, almost 75% of all Realtors® volunteer monthly in their community. Giving back is part of who we are as both people and as professionals,” said Kim Clark, SCRAR Association Executive

In partnership with the National Association of Realtors®, local Realtors® were encouraged to join in on this year’s nationwide philanthropic initiative while maximizing the impact of their volunteer time.
