lzLynne Zotalis was recently honored by Speak Up Talk Radio Firebird awards of 2021 in the category of Creative Non-Fiction for her book Hippie at Heart: What I Used to Be, I Still Am.

Hippie at Heart traces Anne and Nick’s thirty-year romance that has suddenly come to an end when Nick dies one day after their anniversary. Set in a mountain community in northern New Mexico, seventeen miles from civilization, this tale chronicles decades of love and survival culminating with an answer to Nick’s mysterious death.

Zotalis is a Silver City author, short story writer, and poet. She has won publication for three years in the R.H. Cunningham Short Story Contest through Willowdown Books. Her poetry has appeared in several publications including Nature 20/20, Tuck Magazine, The Poetic Bond and Lyrical Iowa. Her books Saying Goodbye to Chuck, a daily journal for the personal grief process, and Hippie at Heart are available on Amazon.
