girlscouts070722Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest in Silver City made bug houses. Mary (Mikki) Jemin came and talked to the girls about bugs, insects, pollinators, and which ones have exoskeletons. She told the girls that without pollinators we would not have a lot of the food that we have such as chocolate (which caught their attention), because we need the bugs to help with the pollination of plants to keep them growing. They made the bug house out of recycled Girl Scout Cookies boxes then put things in like pieces of bamboo, pinecones, juniper berries, and other things found in the back yard of the of the Girl Scout Little House, with the hopes it will attract bugs.
