fightlikeagirlFight Like a Girl, a Silver City non-profit organization, recently hosted a 5K fun walk/run and raised funds to provide blankets, food and other items to people in need this holiday season. Pictured (left to right) are Nancy Bustamante, Fight Like a Girl Founder Lydia Villegas, and Patricia Lewis. Nearly 200 people walked or ran in this first-ever event, and a number of non-profit groups were on hand to educate participants about their services, including PFLAG, Silver Sexual Assault Services (SASS), the Silver City Gospel Mission and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship's Border Project. Grant County Assessor Raul Turrieta emceed the event, and speakers included Judge Mary Ann Sedillo, Mayor Ken Ladner and Sheriff-elect Raul Villanueva.
