chick1chick2The Grant County Extension Service has 15 incubators going all over Grant County in the Silver and Cobre school district and our first set of chicks have begun to hatch!

Jessica Swapp-Massengill, Grant County Extension Agent, has visited several classes and given a brief presentation on embryology and how the egg develops.

"Students  have learned the parts of the egg, and we have candled (looked inside) several incubating eggs,"she said. "I hope to expand this program and do it in more classes next year."
