Public Works Director

Position Summary: Responsible for the day to day management and supervision of the municipal maintenance department to ensure public systems are operated and maintained efficiently and in accordance with federal, state and local standards and regulations, to protect and preserve the environment and public health. Areas of responsibility include the municipal water and sewer system, local streets, parks and recreation, municipal buildings and cemetery. Position Level is by appointed by the Mayor and works under direction of Mayor and Council. Must have a valid NM Class D Driver’s License. Must be certified as a Level III Water and Sewer Collections System I. Education: High School Diploma or GED – College Degree will be reviewed. Experience in the maintenance, repair and operation of water and sewer utility systems including five (5) years of supervisory experience.
