NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT ORDINANCE O-20-1

Notice is given that the Board of County Commissioners of Grant County, New Mexico, proposes to adopt the following Ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE OF GRANT COUNTY, NEW MEXICO DESIGNED TO PROMOTE THE PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY IN GENERAL WELFARE AND TO SECURE SAFETY FROM FIRE HAZARDS AND HEALTH HAZARDS, THIS ORDIANANCE IS FURTHER DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A JUST, EQUITABLE AND PRACTICAL METHOD, TO BE CUMULATIVE WITH AND IN ADDTIION TO ANY OTHER REMEDY PROVIDED BY THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, THE GRANT COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, AS AMENDED, OR OTHERWISE AVAILABLE BY LAW WHEREBY DANGEROUS OR ABANDONDED OR RUINED BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, MOBILE OR MANFUACTRED HOUSING, WRECKAGE, RUBBISH, DEBRIS AND OTHER ITEMS CREATING A PUBLIC NUISANCE MAY BE REQUIRED TO BE REPAIRED, VACATED OR DEMOLISHED AND REMOVED.

A public hearing on the Ordinance will be held at the Regular Commission meeting 9am March 19, 2020, at the Grant County Administration Building, 1400 Highway 180 East, Silver City, NM 88061.

All interested persons are invited to attend. A copy of the proposed Ordinance may be reviewed at the Grant County Administration Building in the Planning Department. In accordance with the American with Disabilities Act, persons needing accommodation or an interpreter to participate in this proceeding should contact the County Commissioner’s Office at (575) 574-0006 at least seven days prior to the date of the hearing. Persons are advised that if they will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purposes, they may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
