Certified and Un-Certified Police Officers
Starting Pay for Certified $24.00 hour
Un-Certified $18.00 hour

The City of Bayard is accepting applications for the position of a full-time Police Officer (Certified and Un-Certified). Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and certification as a police officer by the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy or enrollment of law enforcement program. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Applicant must possess a valid New Mexico driver's license. Applicant must be free of physical impairments that would prevent performance of duties. Applicants will undergo thorough background investigations, interviews and psychological testing, as well as a pre-employment drug and alcohol test. Fringe benefits include annual and sick leave, group health insurance paid 100% and PERA retirement.
