SUMMARY:"Silver City’s Own Elizabeth Warren,” at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
LOCATION:3845 N Swan Street
DESCRIPTION:February 13, at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street  – "Silver City’s Own Eliz
abeth Warren”\nPam Weber will present a program on Elizabeth Warren, who wi
th her three children arrived via stagecoach in 1882, after Mr. Warren was
ready for his family to follow him to Silver City. Widowed soon after, in 1
885, this remarkable woman worked and prospered in several male-dominated a
renas.\nWhat she accomplished and how she managed it is the subject of Webe
r’s program. The Warren home still stands today and other signs of her work
can be found around town.\nPamela Weber was born in Bisbee, AZ and moved t
o Silver City when she was 5 years old.  Although raised in Silver City, sh
e did not realize what fascinating local events had taken place throughout
the course of the area’s history until her eyes were opened when she lived
in Amarillo, TX as an adult and read “Black Range Tales”.  From that point
on, her interest in Southwest New Mexico history was insatiable.   Pamela h
as served on the Silver City Museum Society’s board of directors and was th
e local Westerners Chapter “Drummer” (program coordinator) for nine years.\
nPamela has always considered Elizabeth Warren to be a strong figure in the
history of Silver City.  She did not let adversity bring her down and alwa
ys found a way to make lemonade out of lemons.  Pamela has prepared a prese
ntation about Elizabeth Warren, painting a picture of what Silver City was
like during the time that Elizabeth lived here and how she coped with life
events and made her own way in a man’s world.\nWe may have the back door op
en and ceiling fans going, so please bring a jacket to stay warm. \nUUFSC S
afety Protocol as pursuant to our most recent UUA Guidelines:\nWe will not
be serving food or drinks in the building until further notice. Masks will
still need to be worn at all times indoors and out, except when eating or d
rinking. We will continue to serve refreshments on the patio, weather permi
tting. Visitors are always welcome.\nThe Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
of Silver City is a diverse group of religious independents seeking knowled
ge, spiritual sustenance, fellowship and opportunities for service to other
 s. Our programs encompass Humanism, liberal Christianity, earth-based spiri
tuality, Buddhism and many other traditions. If you’d like to find out more
