Albuquerque – A recent study outlined how Vice President Joe Biden's energy plan would be devastating for New Mexico, yet it's difficult to see where some of New Mexico's leaders stand. When it comes to an industry that employs over 100,000 of our neighbors and contributes billions of dollars to our state, New Mexicans deserve answers.

Recently, a spokeswoman for New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham would only say they're unsure if our state will seek a waiver to Biden's plan if he were elected. Biden's energy proposals are also being met with silence from candidates for both federal and state offices.

The silence is so deafening, one recent editorial called on the Governor and candidates to take position on Biden's plan.

"Explaining their silence is simple: Biden's energy plan would devastate New Mexico's economy and his supporters don't want to have to answer for it," said Larry Behrens, Western States Director for Power The Future. "The plan is so terrible that even one of Biden's biggest supporters in the state openly admits we might need to seek a waiver from it. Indecision and silence aren't good enough, New Mexico's families deserve real answers."
