Why I'm voting early and in person.

While mailboxes are being flooded with absentee ballot requests, here's some facts you should know.

The polls will be open for in person voting this year.

You CAN but do not HAVE to vote absentee.

You can vote in person early or on Election Day.

By voting early and in person

1. You can avoid the crowds and can successfully social distance.
2. You can go at your leisure. Polls are open now and everyday during the clerks operating hours through October 31st.
3. You will be removed from campaign contact lists as soon as you vote! (yes, the calls, emails, and mailers targeting you will stop!)
4. No one else can vote for you once you vote for yourself. (Each election I get at least one call from someone who shows up Election Day, only to be told their vote was already cast early or absentee!)
5. If you go to the polls early, any errors on your registration that could prohibit you from voting can be corrected before Election Day. If you wait until Election Day to vote and there is a mix up with your voter info, you maybe asked to fill out a provisional ballot or you may not be allowed to vote.)

Early voting is underway at your county clerk's office. Additional precincts will open October 17.

New voters, with ID, can register in person and cast their vote at the same time.
