ALBUQUERQUE – Steve Pearce announced today that the House of Representatives passed a water bill that includes an amendment he authored that will require the federal government to repay communities for costs incurred on water projects. Currently, the federal government owes a significant amount of money to New Mexico communities for water projects, including the Town of Bernalillo, which is in Lujan Grisham's congressional district.

"Michelle Lujan Grisham has been asleep on the job for years with no legislative accomplishments to speak of," said RPNM Chairman Ryan Cangiolosi. "She used her official position to profit off government contracts that reek of corruption and has neglected to assist a community in her district. Steve Pearce has proven to be a fierce advocate for all New Mexicans, without regard for whether they are in the Congressional District he represents. This episode represents an embarrassing lack of leadership by Michelle Lujan Grisham, who has failed New Mexico once again. New Mexicans deserve better."
