$2 Trillion Infrastructure Spending Package Includes Green Projects To Satisfy AOC And Bernie Sanders

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Biden Administration announced a massive $2 trillion infrastructure plan with trillions in new tax increases. The package includes a number of proposals to satisfy the Eco-Left's climate spending wish list including policies to transition toward renewable energy and electric vehicles.

"President Biden wants to spend trillions of dollars on climate and green energy projects to satisfy Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and his radical base," said Daniel Turner, Executive Director of Power The Future. "Given the nature of renewable and green energy, much of this money is likely to end up going to foreign companies in countries like China. Biden's green spending plan will be paid for in the form of tax increases on hard-working Americans, many of whom belong to the middle class. Elections have consequences and this announcement comes two months after the Biden Administration unilaterally enacted extreme, job-killing policies, like canceling the Keystone XL pipeline and putting thousands of Americans out of work in the middle of a pandemic."

The plan includes $174 billion for electric vehicle incentives and new charging stations, $100 billion to update the power grid with more renewable sources, $46 billion for the federal government to buy electric vehicles, and $35 billion to research and development of green technology. Additionally, the package includes a clean electricity standard, which mandates a certain percentage of zero-carbon electricity generation. Sadly, less than 1 percent of this spending plan would go to helping fossil fuel workers who are displaced by the Biden Administration's climate policies, like canceling the Keystone XL pipeline.

Biden's massive green spending announcement comes just days after Sen. Edward Markey (D-MA) and Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) unveiled a climate plan that would include $10 trillion over the next decade. This demonstrates that the radical environmental left will continue to push President Biden on climate spending and will not be satisfied with a $2 trillion infrastructure plan.
